Edging closer the to release of her new 6 track EP A Private Road (out December 4th via Bella Union), South London-based songwriter and accomplished synth player Laura Groves has revealed an immersive new single. Following 'Infinite Wisdom' at the beginning of October, 'Foolish Game' dives deeper into a pool of experimental textures. Anchored by a steady drum machine and a subtly groovy bass line, soft pads and unusual sound effects combine beneath Groves' cathartic voccals. She explains: “Foolish Game is a song about the tension between the thrill and the hurt of a situation you can’t seem to let go of - the harshness and tenderness of submission to the same pattern even though we know it may be bad for us, and the strength that can come from becoming aware and taking control.
